Introduction

NetSuite is a cloud based business management software suite owned by Oracle. It offers tools for financial management, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and ecommerce. Businesses use NetSuite to streamline operations, manage finances, and gain insights into their performance. It's designed to be flexible and scalable, catering to various industries and company sizes.

In this blog, we’ll be talking about DataChannel’s integration with NetSuite and how it opens doors for simplified ERP, employees, financials, CRM data management that can also be classified as objects within NetSuite and how it further enables efficient business management ultimately.

NetSuite and its Multiple Uses

  • Financial Management: NetSuite provides comprehensive financial capabilities, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning): It integrates core business processes like inventory management, order processing, and supply chain management.
  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management): Manages customer interactions, sales forecasting, and marketing campaigns to enhance customer relationships.
  • Ecommerce: Enables businesses to create and manage online storefronts, handle transactions, and integrate with other business operations.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Offers real time dashboards and customizable reports for insights into business performance, helping in informed decision making.

DataChannel + NetSuite: Efficient Object Management & Integration

Our integration with NetSuite supports two endpoints, i.e., NetSuite Objects and NetSuite Objects (SuiteQL). We have briefly discussed these endpoints in the upcoming sections and you can read more about these pipelines in DataChannel's documentation as well.

NetSuite Objects: This pipeline can be used to request and retrieve a list of all records of a record type. The NetSuite Objects endpoint also allows businesses to add their individual or list of custom objects. The endpoint however supports a predefined schema and can be used to fetch data including campaign, class, currency, and department, etc as links within the DataChannel console. NetSuite natively supports JSON response for your API requests however, DataChannel simplifies data export by transforming it into easily understandable CSV format, eliminating the need to navigate complex JSON scripts or responses.

NetSuite Objects (SuiteQL): This pipeline can be used to access NetSuite records by executing SuiteQL queries. SuiteQL provides advanced query capabilities you can use to access your NetSuite records and data, and it supports querying the analytics data source. Unlike the NetSuite objects pipeline where the schema is fixed the SuiteQL pipeline does not follow a defined schema and using its own query language can be used for filtering and modeling your data accordingly. Both the Objects and the SuiteQL pipelines can be used to fetch data around NetSuite’s different objects or variables such as Employees, Vendors, Financials, CRM, etc.
