Year in Review: 2024
As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back on the milestones, breakthroughs, and innovations that made 2024 unforgettable. From expanding integrations to adding user-friendly features, this year was all about empowering data teams and transforming how they work. Here’s a detailed recap of what we achieved, with a few behind the scenes stories and client love sprinkled in!
Going End-to-End with Data Orchestration
Back in our 2023 blog, we promised to deliver one of our most anticipated features: Data Orchestration with DataChannel. In February, we kept that promise. Since then, we’ve continued enhancing it with additional nodes, starting with Tableau and Power BI, followed by the Delay Node and AWS Lambda Functions Node.
By the end of 2024, users were seamlessly:
✅Extracting data from their preferred sources.
✅Transforming it with SQL or dbt models.
✅Activating the data into business applications.
✅Visualizing insights with tools like Tableau and Power BI.
✅Monitoring workflows with real-time updates and minimal intervention.
dbt Cloud Integration: Enabling Smarter Data Transformation
Last year, we integrated dbt Core; this year, we took it a step further with dbt Cloud. Offering a powerful Integrated Development Environment (IDE), dbt Cloud allows users to develop and run commands effortlessly. Its robust orchestration capabilities mean scheduling, running, and monitoring dbt jobs has never been easier. With dbt Cloud, we empower users to do more with their data transformations.
Event-driven Architecture:
AWS Lambda & Google Cloud Functions
To enable automation and execution of tasks based on event triggers. Incorporating AWS Lambda & Google Cloud Functions into Orchestrations allows you to establish automated serverless computing workflows that react to real-time changes.
G2 Reviews: A Testament to Our Journey
Four quarters, countless reviews, and multiple badges later, our hearts are full. G2’s recognition especially in categories like Data Extraction, Ecommerce Data Integration, and Reverse ETL has been incredibly rewarding. Becoming a Momentum Leader wouldn’t have been possible without our clients’ unwavering support. Here’s to continually listening, improving, and delivering.
Stellar Customer Testimonials
This year, we welcomed new clients and celebrated their data successes with glowing testimonials:
“DataChannel did all of what we asked for at scale without any major roadblocks along the way.” – Rishubh Satiya, Cofounder & CEO, Plix
“DataChannel truly streamlined our approach to extracting insights from our partner marketing platforms.” – Timothy T, CEO, Joy Wallet
To every client who trusted us this year, thank you. You’re the reason we innovate, iterate, and push boundaries.
Quickcommerce Integrations: Entering the Fast Lane
2024 marked our foray into the world of quickcommerce. With new connectors for Zepto and Blinkit, our ecommerce and D2C clients can now fetch near realtime data from fastpaced product delivery and inventory systems. Add these to our existing arsenal of connectors for Amazon, Walmart, Flipkart, and Shopify, and you’ve got a robust ecosystem tailored for modern commerce.
Expanded Data Warehouse Support
Building on our robust suite of supported data warehouses, we are thrilled to announce the addition of new "sources of truth" for our users, including Azure Synapse, MongoDB, and Clickhouse. These integrations enable seamless data movement to and from these destinations via DataChannel, empowering users to extract, transform, and activate their data to meet diverse business needs. Establishing a centralized source of truth is essential for driving business growth and addressing critical questions that define success.
Management API Enhancements
The Management API has been a cornerstone feature of DataChannel, and in 2023, we introduced significant updates to enhance its capabilities. With these advancements, users can now:
✅Generate access and refresh tokens.
✅Add and delete credentials.
✅Link new data sources and destinations.
✅Configure and update data warehouses and workspaces.
✅Run orchestrations and generate default reports.
This growing API empowers users to programmatically execute a wide range of tasks, eliminating the need for frontend interaction. It’s a testament to our commitment to streamlining operations and giving users the flexibility to manage their workflows efficiently.
Enhanced Notifications
Expanding our notification integrations, we now support Microsoft Teams alongside Slack and Email. Users can leverage Teams as a data destination, enabling realtime notifications about changes to their data warehouse. Notifications can be customized to include:
✅The channel for receiving updates.
✅Specific data models and fields.
✅Personalized messages for team members.
With this integration, users can manage their DataChannelrelated tasks directly within Microsoft Teams, ensuring a cohesive and unified workflow.
Enhanced Logs
We have enhanced our log viewing functionality to include detailed logs for reverse ETL processes and data transformations. Users can now:
✅Access comprehensive logs for all tasks, whether successful or unsuccessful, directly from the DataChannel console.
✅Securely store logs in their preferred data warehouse using our logs connector.
This improvement provides users with greater transparency and control over their data operations, ensuring that all activities are easily traceable and auditable.
Amazon Integrations: From Seller Central to DSP
Our journey with Amazon marketplace began with limited endpoint support in Seller Central. Today, we proudly support a broad spectrum of Amazon services, including:
- Seller Central
- Vendor Central
- Marketing Cloud
- Demandside platform (DSP)
- Marketing Stream
- Sponsored Ads
- Keepa (Amazon Price Tracker)
- Amazon S3 Bucket
From third-party (3P) to first-party (1P) data, onAmazon or offAmazon ads, and seller or non-seller services, our platform integrates it all. Whether it’s historical data or hourly updates, from standalone services or a network of providers, DataChannel delivers comprehensive insights across Product, Order, Inventory, Advertising, Sales, and Supply Chain data.
What’s Next? 2025 and Beyond
Big things are coming in 2025. Early next year, we’re unveiling a breakthrough feature powered by Artificial Intelligence.
Here’s a sneak peek: Imagine interacting with your data as intuitively as chatting with a colleague in the data team. Whether you need raw data, a visualization, or an SQL query, this new feature will make it happen instantly.
